Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis previews new Genesis cues at the Detroit auto show
Hyundai’s HCD-14 Genesis debuted Monday at the Detroit auto show. From it’s Audi-esque grille to a cool headlight and taillight treatment, it looks like the next Genesis may be a bit more avant-garde than the outgoing car.
Ford Atlas truck debuts at Detroit auto show
Ford revealed its Atlas concept pickup truck at the Detroit auto show on Tuesday. The concept truck is powered by a next-generation EcoBoost engine that uses technologies such as engine start-stop to help improve fuel economy. The concept previews the next generation of the F-150 pickup.
TURBOCHARGERS AND SUPERCHARGERS
When talking about high performance cars, we often hear the terms turbochargers and superchargers. These are forced induction systems that force compressed air at a high pressure into the cylinders of the engine. This means that fuel is burnt in the cylinders with an high amount of pressurized air which gives a higher power output. The typical boost obtained from either a turbocharger or a supercharger is 6-8 psi. Since normal atmospheric pressure is 14.7 psi.
